This project called for the expansion of specialized childcare space in an existing renovated house. We designed an addition with a new entrance based on a child's drawing of a house (with a mini entrance door sized just for kids) to establish the center as the child's other home. The center featured low windows through which toddlers can look and mostly indirect lights to keep them from shining in their eyes. Part two of the project involved converting the existing barn into a nature study center. Built 1993: 1,800 sf, $190,000.
